Four Fabulous Favors

There are so many details involved a large event like a quinceañera which is part of the fun of attending. From the fashion to the entertainment, the food to the decoration, and the dessert bar to the dancing robot, everything has been carefully planned out. To top it all off you will likely be sent home with something to commemorate the event. Sometimes even the centerpieces doubles as a recuerdo. It's always nice to bring home some beautiful fresh flowers or I recently picked up a great succulent centerpiece at an event which I love because it will actually last awhile with just a little bit of care.

Call me practical, but I tend to love the recuerdos that serve some purpose or are useful in some way...like candles, candies, and key chains! Maybe it's because I don't have much space in my home for knick knacks. I have seriously seen entire walls dedicated to recuerdos from various events. Keeping that in mind, here are four of my favorite party favors.

#4 - Servilletas (Tortilla warmers)

Servilletas are a fairly common recuerdos and definitely one of my favorites. It is something that you need if you are serving dinner up with tortillas, and it is generally hand made with something personalized for the event such as the quinceañera's name and the date of the party. Of course you don't need to include the name and date; you can just have them embroidered with the color scheme of the party or even the theme if you have one. The servielleta can be a blank canvas for whatever colors and designs you want to include such as flowers, a young woman in a gown, butterflies...you name it!

#3 - Glasses

Glasses are another one that you can get continued use out of. I have seen shot glasses, tumblers, mason jars, etc., all with the name and date of the party written on them in some way. Again, you can be creative with how or if they are decorated. You can also take it one step further and have personalized ones made for your court and padrinos!

#2 Handheld Fans

Believe it or not I have never actually received a fan as a party favor but I would LOVE to! I can't count how many times I have returned to my seat after dancing only to scrounge around the table for something to fan myself with. Often times I end up with a napkin or a postcard if one of the vendors has passed them out, but wouldn't it be great to have an actual fan!? There are so many styles that it can definitely be matched to the party theme, and it is something that can not only be useful in the moment but you can carry it around with you to any and all events in the future!

#1 - Flip Flops

This is hands down (or feet down?) my absolute favorite party favor of all time. Everybody knows that with all that dancing your feet will be killing you by the end of the night, but what if your feet start hurting but you aren't ready to slow down? Or you just want to have something comfortable for that walk to the car. Sure, some people think ahead and bring an extra pair of flats, but believe me there will be people there who will be super thankful for your thoughtful gift. And even if you don't use them that night, everybody can use a good pair of flip flops!
